Angela and Kurt LeVasseur have the disctiction of being VaST's first clients. They came to us with the dream of building and Arts and Crafts style home in Erie Village---an elclectic subdivision with a mix of historic style homes running the gamut from country to Victorian, many with so much gingerbread they look like the should be in Disneyland. VaST's interpretation of Arts & Crafts is contrmporary yet warm. The clients' desire to include a timber framed front porch, pulled the look together. As teacher from the contruction trades program for Boulder Valley schools, Kurt was more than qualified to build the house himself (with just a little help from family, friends, Angela and the architect).
The completed 3-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home is approxiamtely 2,500 SF with an 800 SF Carriage House.
Sustainable Features:
Passive solar design
Passive cooling with thermal chimney
Engineered wood used in structural framing
